Reducing the litter dropped in our ward
The only reason litter isn't a huge problem across our ward is we have hard working volunteers who litter pick the entire ward.
If elected, I would continue to support Sheffield’s amazing litter pickers and champion the work they do. At the same time, we must address the root of the problem. Sheffield City Council has already taken steps by increasing fines for littering, which is a move in the right direction.

Refuse collections
Our bins in Sheffield are collected less frequently than in most places, and families and shared homes don’t have enough bin space.
We have recently been promised larger blue bins and the ability to recycle more items in our brown bins. This is a huge decision, benefiting both the people of Sheffield and the environment.
I will do all I can to help with any teething problems and will work hard to ensure this happens in a timely manner.

Social & Sports facilities
Whilst we have a large number of fantastic facilities and clubs, many struggle to find suitable spaces and lack funding. There is a vast North-South divide where the south gets more funding per person, this is something I will seak to change. Additonally, Sheffield United bought up the HSBC facility, depriving local children and clubs of these great facilities. I would put pressure on them also.
Your right to your freehold
There have been a number of issues effecting people in our ward in relation to them not owning the freedhold of their home.
I will continue to support people affected any way I can and would fight for people's right to live in peace in their own home without threat, intimidation or extortion.
Improved public transport & cycling lanes
Our buses and trains are unreliable and patchy. This matters for young people who don’t drive, for older people who can’t drive anymore, and for anyone who prioritises our environment. We need direct buses to the Royal Hallamshire and Northern General hospitals for all areas in this ward. We all end up going to hospital and we shouldn't have to pay for a taxi to benfit for the NHS.
We should be able to cycle into the city safely, joined-up cycle lanes would make a huge difference.
These directly link with other concerns local people have raise, the decline of our city centre, congestion, speeding, the environment, and air quality. If Sheffield could improve its transport and cycle infrastructure, we could transform our culture and our reputation. Imagine Sheffield becoming a city known for clean air, safe roads, and excellent transport.
